The Proposal

The site was chosen for a variety of reasons including:

  • Good Wind Resource
  • No local or national natural heritage designations
  • Close to the grid which runs through the site
  • Close to the A90 for ease of access

The development will consist of three wind turbines that are likely to be under 80 meters from base to tip height. The final site design and turbine specifications will be decided upon after environmental monitoring is undertaken.

The four images on this page show what the windfarm may look like from the A90 Burns Memorial (top two images, lower is zoomed in) and Stonehaven War Memorial (bottom two images, second one is zoomed in)

The Auquhirie Land Company would like to thank all the team that helped acheive this successful decision, especially Fraser Mackenzie of Atmos Consulting Ltd.
