The developers held a public exhibition, in May 2008, where the local community viewed the planned proposal and discussed questions  with the developers and their consultants. The developers consultants also met with Drumlithie Community Association in June 2008.

In 2009, the Catterline, Kinneff and Dunnottar Community Council and the Stonehaven Community Council were both consulted on the intention to seek a height increase.
